Meet New Google's Semantic Search - Knowledge Graph
On May 16, 2012 the search giant establishes the concept which will become a transition to more updated search.
Knowledge Graph makes Google smarter and better at giving answers to the users. For example, difference is easily seen when one tried to make query “ Taj Mahal”.Google gave the example of Taj Mahal: “do you mean Taj Mahal the monument, or Taj Mahal the restaurant? Now, with the mentioned updates, Google understands the difference and can narrow the search results to the desired one.
Google SVP, Engineering, Amit Singhal commented on the following changes: «It is very important step on a way of creation the new generation of search that learns how to understand the world more deeply, more intelligent than ordinary search algorithm does. The new concept of search is designed to distinguish the smallest nuances and interrelations of inquiries just as it was done by the person».
Among the other advantages of new search model one needs to emphasize an ability to create a semantic kernel of query, collecting all necessary facts. Also, Google developers promise to launch mobile version of Knowledge Graph at an early date.
This novelty will be soon explorable for the USA and Great Britain.
