Twitter Enters Users Inboxes By Means of A Weekly E-mail Digest
Twitter has created a e-mail digest project that is appearing in the users e-mail inboxes. As a result users will be always aware of the best tweets.
Twitter tries now its best to edge into users e-mail inboxes. It wants to be for a user not only the source of 140-character communications on the web, in its desktop app and on the mobile device. On Monday it was told by Twitter in its blog that it is opening an e-mail digest that will mark tweets, otherwise a user will not be able to see all of them.
This e-mail digest will emerge in a few weeks. It is created basing on the “Discover” tab in Twitter’s mobile apps. The sense of this digest is to provide a user with the most interesting, best content that emerges on the network. Although such content can be supported or belong to a person whom a user does not follow at all.
By clicking “View details”, a user is able to see which of the people he / she follows has favorite or retweeted messages that emerge in the digest. Then a user is also able to favorite, retweet or reply the tweets that appeal to him / her.
E-mail digest start up relies on technology that Twitter bought from Summify (it allowed users to execute personalized social media digests). The launch starts very soon, after Twitter consummate a business deal of RestEngine purchase that will be able to better the offering in time.
It is still not entirely clear how worthwhile this weekly e-mail digest will be. At the same time it is also not evident about the very life that is reflected through usual tweet. So, perhaps, the reason why Twitter expands the relevance of messages, by launching a best-of weekly digest, is that otherwise users will not be able to see many of them. By the way, it is worth remembering that if a user does not like it he / she will be able to switch it off any time.
