Google And Mozilla extend Their Agreement For Next Three Years
Today two giants, Google and Mozilla have renewed the agreement according to which Google remains to be the default search engine in Firefox browsers.
We don't know anything about the financial side of the matter. The only thing that is known due to Mozilla's blog post is that this agreement extands "for at least 3 years."
It can be interesting that the recent contract's expiry date came 3 weeks ago. Actually speaking the agreement was just the same. We'd like to provide you with some quotes taken from the Mozilla announcement.
“Under this multi-year agreement, Google Search will continue to be the default search provider for hundreds of millions of Firefox users around the world,” This is a quote by Mozilla SEO specialist Gary Kovacs. And this one is from Google:
“Mozilla has been a valuable partner to Google over the years and we look forward to continuing this great partnership in the years to come.”
We just want to add that the significance of this deal for Mozilla can hardly be underestimated. One of the company's representatives has recently revealed that almost all their income comes from search royalties. What do you think, what is the profit of this agreement for Google?
