You'll never guess what's gowing on! I've read in todays news that Bing offers "Firefox With Bing." Microsoft Internet explorer is being pushed by a rival browser! Can you imagine that?
I was looking through blogs for today and was just stroke when noticed that Bing suggests that users should donload this "Firefox With Bing". Bing is actually used as some kind of default engine for traditional Firefox searches and for those performed from "AwesomeBar" adress window:
Google has been used so far as the default engine for Firefox almost in all countries in thee world. There was a certain deal between these two companies for that. I've learnt there there is already such a deal between Bing and Firefox. So people are now encouraged to buy a rival product of quite another division.
Many people think though that this step was necessary for Microsoft if they wanted to win in search. They had to forget about search integrating with Internet Explorerand of search possible tiying into Office. It could be Macs, Google Chrome or Firefox that is not as many mistakingly think the default in Internet Explorer.
By the way I've just recently faced a situation that on Apple PCs if you install Chrome it asks you whether you want to use Google, Bing or Yahoo. It's happened twice, so perhaps it will happen on Windows PCs as well.
