YouTube has launched two new upgrades that will help nonprofit institutions in their work on the service.
On Friday, July 20, YouTube announced on its official blog about two valuable changes in its nonprofit program that optimize the very process of service social platform usage for nonprofit institutions. New updates will allow giving more publicity to certain videos.
Starting from July 31new online “101 level” trainings will take place on the regular basis for nonprofit institutions. They will be simply perfect to begin with working for those nonprofit institutions that have just joint YouTube nonprofit program or started launching its YouTube channel. The very trainings will be conducted through the “Google+ Hangouts On Air” service every last Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. Such online trainings will be accessible for those nonprofit channels that would like to watch and listen to without being recorded.
Another important update is annotations integration that will be able to link to the following four websites such as Change.org, DonorsChoose.org, RocketHub.com and Causes.com. It is worth reminding that since April video creators are able to link to such special fundraising platforms as Indiegogo and Kickstarter. In is also worth mentioning that earlier annotations were able to link only to other YouTube videos, channels and YouTube service search results.
According to the video-sharing website representatives, YouTube counts more than 17.000 institutions on the nonprofit program. The service tries to streamline the very process of users’ attention attraction to the charity projects and effective campaigns creation, making them at the same time more convenient and high-quality.
It is worth reminding that YouTube pays big attention to nonprofit segment, providing nonprofit institutions, public activists and educators with new possibilities for operating on the service. Among such possibilities, there are live streaming and fundraising tools that are given to nonprofit institutions with 501(c)(3) status free of charge.
