Online Marketing Show Featured a Plethora of Thought-Leading Attractions
On Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th June 2012, the prestigious Grand Hall at London’s Olympia played host for Marketing Week Live, a seven themed exhibition show organised by Marketing Week – a leading and award-winning UK magazine covering marketing jobs, news, opinion and information.
Of the seven themes, BizzTeams.com went to visit exhibitors at the Online Marketing Show which featured a plethora of thought-leading attractions and access to a multitude and diverse range of industry leading experts – from over 475 exhibitors, with over 50 of the top 100 global brands in marketing, pushing the way forward for the future of marketing. Some exhibitors were very nice and gave BizzTeams a video interview, for example:
see what’s happening in the industry and where people are going, and to also see what benefits such exhibitions can bring – both to the exhibitors themselves and to the wider public who visited the show.
There we met some companies that are very famous in digital world.
We interviewed a number of the exhibitors who helped us establish the great benefit they see in such exhibitions – the key being having an opportunity to meet and get to know what others are doing, bounce new ideas off one another, network and take guidance as well as get your brand out there and raise some awareness and interest in what you’re doing, too.
With a tremendous footfall of over thirteen thousand visitors, the show provided to be a central hub for people interested in marketing as well as giving them direct access to some of the leading brands in the country and proved itself to be the leading show of its kind in Europe.
At the Conference, one could visit different tracks that reflected main branches of digital industry, and listen to many respectable speakers.
A number of keynote presentations by leading guest speakers – everything from charting the rise of mobile marketing to using Cloud based applications for driving forward a marketing strategy, to looking at how to succeed with QR codes was delivered to packed audiences.
With the exhibitors we raised key contentions – where is digital marketing heading and what are you doing? What’s happening with Google and Facebook? And we got some really interesting answers and some consensus, too, – the Facebook IPO was unanimously considered a disaster but interestingly digital marketers had different ideas as to where the future is – some believe Facebook will find its feet as it gets together some revenue generating schemes and that’s only a matter of time given the amount of time internet users spend on Facebook; others believe Facebook is actually on a terminal and inevitable decline. It certainly does not have the power to usurp Google’s hold on the search engine arena but may play a part as it further integrates.
Google’s new SEO technologies (Panda, Penguin et al) was certainly a hot topic but the marketers were distinctly calm about it – the key they believe, is that if you have set your website and did your SEO correctly, these new updates will be nothing but beneficial to you, but if you hacked your way through SEO and are doing it badly, then Panda and Penguin could spell big trouble for you and you may have to rethink your strategies. Something to think about...
So, was the Show a success? For sure! Some of the exhibitors looked very excited about the event:
Marketing Week Live is a very great thing, indeed!
We hope that every visitor who attended Online Marketing Show enjoyed it and found out much informative thing that will help them in their work.
As the show closed its doors at 4.30pm on Thursday, so the countdown begins to next year’s show with plans to make it bigger and better! We certainly look forward to it and have pencilled it into our diaries – 26th – 27th June 2013. We’ll see you there.
