    Google: «Nofollow Linking Won't Compromise Your Sites»

    The search giant claims that there won't be any penalty for nofollow linking.

    Recently Google has gladdened web-masters and optimizers. Well, if you have great amount of sites linking to your site accompanied with the nofollow attribute attached to the link and you worry tht Google can conceive it to be as a signal to punish your site - make your mind easy. In a Google Webmaster Help thread, John Mueller, Google fellow announced that in a similar case when an optimizer has a lot of links attached to nofollows pointing, this optimizer has nothing to worry about. He wrote that it won't impact negatively on the site as such links are taken out of PageRank analyses, and algorithms.



    Well, it sounds strange as after all the changes and updates as Penguin algorithm many optomisers have assumed that it would be some kind of signal to punish the site.
