    Rinat Safin About Changes In Google's Search

    We all know about changes and the consequence of the updates Google continues to inculcate. But what about Google in Russia? What has happened with the search giant during the last half-year.

    Recently, the head of Moscow search quality team Rinat Safin shared the results of executed work during the last six months in 2012. Every year 50 thousand experiments and 500 updates are realised by Google on purposes of improving the search quality, according to Rinat Safin. Moreover, every change is discussed in details and tested. As an example, Rinat Safin presented a video.



    From the very beginning of 2012 Google made 150 modifications in its algorithms. The most essential for Russian search are:

    • The development of local search;
    • Panda and Penguin updating as the weapon against spam and irrelevant content in SERP. Now Google manages better with search spam and overloaded with ads on results pages;
    • the encouragement of sources. Due to its updates Google began to prefer the sites with original (not borrowed) text;
    • Making the mobile search more convenient. Now the users can just speak their queries and applications Google Search App and Google Search provide with answers immediately;
    • The information hardening. Google search works with SSL protocol and ciphers user data, that might be transferred amid user's computer and search services.
