Bret Taylor, Facebook CTO, is going to leave the company for another startup together with his friend.
Bret Taylor (Facebook CTO) is planning to outgo quite soon. He announced about his intention on personal network page on June 15.
Bret deals with not only main social network functionality but also with mobile apps development that is of high importance to the company. After his leaving, Mike Vernal and Cory Ondreijka will be involved into these branches.
Mike Vernal has been working in Facebook since 2008; besides main branch of company’s activities he deals with OpenGraph. As for Cory Ondreijka, he joined the company in the year of 2010, after Walletin purchase.
For investors and the market, such step can be a signal of the fact that after its IPO the company is not able to save its “stars” in the company. Still, Bret states that he has never hidden from Mark Zuckerberg the very fact that he also wants to be engaged into new projects. To his point of view, now after IPO and company's recent accomplishments (such as Facebook Camera, App Center, iOS integration) this is the very moment to leave for another company.
Earlier Bret Taylor worked in Google, then he founded his own FriendFeed startup that in 2009 was bought by Facebook.
The very company where Bret is going to leave for is kept in secret yet. Still, it is known that this is the very company that he will be starting together with his friend Kevin Gibbs, Google ex-employee.
