    Facebook Social Network Launches “WorldPress” Tool

    Facebook social network integrates users’ blogs into its content, making blogs more social.

    On Monday morning, Facebook social network announced about soon integration with WordPress platforms (WorldPress.com and WorldPress.org plugin directory). This will allow any user to add own blog content to Facebook within one simple click.

    The very integration is accessible through specific Facebook WordPress plugin. It will give bloggers and admins of WordPress platform sites an opportunity to cross-publish content to the affiliated Facebook Pages, their own social network Timelines and WordPress sites.

    “The plugin was built by Facebook engineers in collaboration with open source partners, and makes it simple for anyone to make their WordPress site more social – no coding required,” wrote Matt Kelly (Facebook engineer) in a Facebook developers’ blog.

    Over 16% of all web is powered by WordPress platforms and it seems that Facebook desires to become something the same for its more than 900 mln. user’s audience.

    It also looks like Facebook will soon become a destination site for original, non-user-generated content, moreover, a gateway to the wider web.

    Thanks to Facebook + WordPress integration new additional widgets are available. First of all, activity feed becomes available and it shows users what their Facebook friends have been doing on the WordPress-based sites. Secondly, recommendations plugin becomes also available and it offers new pages and articles to users, allowing them to track read on their Timeline data. At the same time, it provides customizable “Like”, “Send” and “Subscribe” buttons and comments box that gives users an opportunity to cross-post comments to Facebook social network and site owner.
