Twitter New Functionality To Provide Trend Relevancy Increase
Twitter service rolls out new “Tailored Trend” functionality to raise trends relevancy.
In May, Twitter social microblogging service launched “Tailored Suggestions” functionality that allows to adapt user’s Twitter account according to his / her interests. So, a user will be suggested to follow kindred people, users with similar interests but not nearly the same, popular accounts as it was before.
In June, new functionality as “Tailored Trends” is adding to Twitter. It will allow to suggest people more relevant trends, basing on their location and who they follow on the service. To start with, a user needs only to change his / her trend list on the left side of the page marking country, city (however, it is possible to choose only within given variants).
Earlier plenty of trends were not interesting to many users whom they were listed to. Now, for example, an American user will not be obtrusively offered trends that can be interested only to a Japanese one, and a football fan will not be offered figure-skating trends any more. This will also help to make specific target audience closer to the specific local events, promos, brands. More detailed information about this functionality can be found on official Twitter blog.
New functionality will be implementing gradually, starting from June 12. It is also worth mentioning that it will be available not only for PC version but also for iPhone and Android ones. By the way, a user will be able to switch off this service and see more general trends in his / her list.
